Privacy policy

This Privacy Policy, which is also our privacy notice, explains how MexVend collects, uses, stores and shares personal data when you use our website, our iOS and Android apps, the marketplace and related services (the "service"). It also explains where we obtain the information in supplier profiles and how you can exercise your rights.

MexVend, Inc., a company incorporated in Delaware, with address in San Francisco, is the controller of your personal data. For any privacy matter, write to sophia@mexvend.com.

Information you give us

Account: name, email address, phone number, company and job title. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and profile photo.

Requests and messages: requests for quotation (RFQ), product requirements, delivery location, searches and messages you send through the service.

Supplier profile: company data, products, photos, certifications and contact details that a supplier adds when activating its profile.

TrustPass review: tax ID (RFC), company documents and information obtained during factory visits.

Information collected automatically

MexVend keeps records of the requests and inputs sent to the system. These records may include queries, filters, searches, generated results, timestamps, IP addresses, browser and device information, pages visited, referring URLs, and diagnostic and crash data from the apps.

Information from other sources

Public information about Mexican companies, which we use to create supplier profiles. See Origin of supplier information.

We do not request sensitive personal data. Please do not include it in searches, requests for quotation or messages.

Some MexVend supplier profiles are created with public information about Mexican companies, even if the supplier has not yet registered.

What data: trade name or registered company name, company description, products and sectors, location, website, and the contact phone number and email address that the company publishes.

Where from: the companies' own websites and other public pages on the internet.

Purpose: to show the profile to buyers, to let them send requests for quotation to the supplier, and to invite the supplier to activate its profile.

First contact: the first time we contact a supplier whose profile was created this way, we send it a link to this notice.

AI summaries: some profile descriptions are generated with artificial intelligence and may contain errors.

Your options as a supplier: you can activate your profile to correct and manage it, or ask us to delete it by writing to sophia@mexvend.com.

MexVend uses cookies and similar technologies to operate the site, remember preferences, maintain security, measure usage, debug performance and improve the service. You can control cookies from your browser settings.

Purposes necessary to provide the service

• Create and manage accounts and profiles.
• Show supplier profiles and search results, and interpret buyers' requests.
• Send requests for quotation to suppliers and notices about them.
• Review suppliers for TrustPass.
• Protect the service, prevent abuse and resolve errors.
• Comply with legal obligations.

Additional purposes, which you can refuse

• Send you news, content and marketing communications.
• Analyze usage to improve rankings and the product.
• Invite you to surveys.

To refuse any of these, write to sophia@mexvend.com or use the unsubscribe link in our emails. Refusing does not affect your access to the service.

We use AI model providers to interpret searches, generate results and draft some communications. Some MexVend messages may be drafted or sent by Sophia, our AI assistant.

We send you emails about your account and your requests for quotation.

We send you WhatsApp messages only if you agreed to receive them from MexVend. For this we use Meta's WhatsApp Business platform, which processes your number and messages under its own terms and privacy policy.

To stop receiving WhatsApp messages, reply "BAJA". To stop receiving marketing emails, use the unsubscribe link. Essential notices about your account or your requests may still reach you by email.

If you share your WhatsApp number or email address with another user and continue the conversation outside MexVend, that communication is no longer under our control.

Between users: supplier profiles are visible to buyers. When you send a request for quotation, the supplier sees what you requested (product, quantity, required date, delivery location and details), your name and your company's name. We do not share your email address or phone number with the supplier: the conversation stays within MexVend, unless you decide to share them.

Service providers: we share only what is necessary with those who help us operate the service, such as hosting (DigitalOcean), email delivery (Resend), messaging (Meta / WhatsApp), sign-in (Google) and AI model providers.

Customs and logistics: if you ask for help with customs or export logistics, we share with our partner the data necessary to assist you.

Legal obligations: we may disclose information when required by law or to protect rights and safety.

International transfers: some of these providers process data outside Mexico, including in the United States.

MexVend does not sell personal data. Buyers' search activity is not published.

• Account data, requests for quotation and messages: while the account is active. When it is closed, we delete or anonymize them within a maximum of 90 days, except for what the law requires us to keep.
• Usage and security records: up to 12 months.
• TrustPass review documents: while the supplier's profile is active and up to 12 months afterwards, so we can answer questions about the review.
• Supplier profile whose deletion was requested: removed from the site within a maximum of 15 business days.

We use reasonable administrative, technical and organizational safeguards, but no internet service can guarantee absolute security. If a security breach occurs that significantly affects your rights, we will notify you.

You may request access to your personal data, rectify it, cancel it, or object to its use, including objecting to automated decisions made without human intervention. You may also revoke your consent or limit the use of your data.

To do so, write to sophia@mexvend.com with:

• Your name and a way to contact you.
• What you are requesting and about which data.
• A document that proves your identity or, if you act on behalf of someone else, your representation.

We respond within a maximum of 20 business days. If the request is granted, we apply it within the following 15 business days. Both deadlines may be extended once when justified.

MexVend is a service for businesses and is intended for people over 18 years of age. We do not intentionally collect personal information from minors.

We may update this Privacy Policy. The updated version will be published on this page with a new date. If the change is material, we will notify you by email or within the service.
